The treatment plan was a conservative attempt to restore function and make the patient comfortable. He was very uncomfortable with the previously made partial denture and his HMO dental experience. He is now very happy.
1. Partially edentulous upper arch.
2. Partially edentulous lower arch.
3. Inflamed gingival tissues and plaque accumulation.
4. Defective lower partial denture.
5. Lower partial denture showing ill fitting posterior saddle area (doesn’t approximate the ridge).
6. Deficient posterior occlusion with the defective denture in place.
7. Radiograph of lower right first bicuspid showing periapical radiolucency.
8. Initiation of endodontics.
9. Completion of endodontics.
10. Placement of carbon fiber post/core.
11. Fabrication and cementation of an acrylic temporary crown.
12. At the following appointment the temporary crown was removed and gingival retraction cord was placed prior to a final impression.
13. The final putty/wash ompression.
14. Final porcelain/gold crown.
15. Final crown cemented in place.
16. Tooth preparations for composite restorations.
17. Flowable composite material was utilized and polished.
18. Final lower chrome-cobalt partial denture.
19. Lower denture in place.
